Millionaire Matchmaker

Published 2009-05-28 01:12:17 | By Yvette | Category: Love
If you have fun friends like me, they are always working on setting you up with the "perfect guy". I guess when you are single everybody has the perfect guy for you. I have been on a blind date once in my life and it was in High School. All I can say is I don't ever want to do that again. I know I may be a little dramatic, but you know what they say when you have a bad experience. I mean I may be up for it again, but I am going to take precaution's--and when I say precaution's, I mean I 100% have to trust the friend. I would first ask her if she would date him. If she says no, there better be a good reason.

So, why I am I telling you this? Because you may be interested in this! My friend told me about a show on TV called Millionaire Matchmaker. So I thought I would tell you about it. All you have to do is fill out paperwork and send a photo, you may end up with a quality man. Patti Stanger, who is the host of Millionaire Matchmaker, has a new book called "Become your own Matchmaker". I heard Patti is a no "Bulls*%$#" type of girl. It is what it is (my kind of attitude). If your attitude sucks, or you style is frumpy, she will tell you. You can log onto her site to get some dating tips

I enjoy this book because if gives ordinary people like you and me the basics of our body. I believe we are all responsible for our own body--which means knowing how it works. If you come from a family that is terrified of doctors, and only goes when you are in unbearable pain, this book is for you. We need to stop being scared! You are the owner of your body and nobody knows it as well as you. There is so much information about the basics of our body in this book. It is an easy read, and will give you insight. Hey, it may even save your life.

Oh my goodness! I found a new way to satisfy my sweet tooth--and the beauty of it all is I found something that is has less fat than my other habit, cookies. It is a new frozen yogurt store called Cherry on Top near my house in Pasadena, California. Cherry On Top is a fairly new frozen yogurt shop. They currently have 7 stores located in California and 4 more are on their way. Cherry On Top is one of few yogurt shops that is self-serve. They also play upbeat, contemporary songs and they even have a television so that people can watch shows, sports, or movies if they decide to stay awhile and relax.

There is a seperate hip hop, trance, 80s room which is really intimate. Both DJ's mix it up every week and the main room is huge. There are three full bars in the main room Saturday. Another place you can go after a game or concert.

This is a fun place to go to watch a Laker Game or whatever "other" basketball team you like..lol. It is also a cool place to hang out after a concert. I mean who wants to go home after a fun night out? You won't even have to drive there since it is in walking distance. The ESPN zone is in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. It is located across the street from the Staples Center and right next to the new Nokia Center. You can sit outside or inside and is fabulous in the summer time.

Woman and Money

Ladies, this is one of the my favorite books. I also enjoy watching the Suze Orman show. She keeps me up to date with all that is going on in the financial world, in the midst of this financial crises. With all the changes in the financial world, her show discloses all the new laws. She has such a passion for money and investing, and it shows in her books and show. I love her motto when it comes to money--people first, money second, and things last. She can't put it any better than that.

We all should be in control of our finances, and Suze is a great teacher. We need to be in control of our destiny and we must start by taking action today. Most of you may say "I don't even balance my check book". Well, there is no better time to learn, than today. It is more important than you think.

Maui, Hawaii

I just had to share this beautiful picture I took it in Maui, Hawaii. It is absolutely gorgeous! I don't know about living there. It is a very small town, and with my hyper personality I would get board fast. But for a two week vacation, it is perfect. If you ever decide to go to Hawaii, be sure to go in the summer time. It is so much fun and beautiful. I went surfing, shopping, cruised in the convertible, snorkeling and went to town and hung out with the local surfers. With my crazy work schedule, a relaxing vacation is needed. I plan on going on many more of these types of vacations. Give yourself this gift. It is totally worth it. Forget the new TV and take a vacation.

Penta Water

I know a lot of you may have never even heard of Penta Water. The truth is it is the BEST water you can buy. In my opinion the only water better than this, is pure natural water.

Penta Water is a ultra purified, energized water that not only fully hydrates, but may also help increase antioxidant activity in your body, making it an easy, refreshing way to stay fully hydrated and to get the extra antioxidant protection you need.

Unlike other antioxidant supplements or beverages that use synthetic additives, Penta Water has no additives so it may be better absorbed to maximize its antioxidant effects.

This is important as antioxidants (molecules capable of slowing or preventing the oxidation of other molecules) act as reducing agents of oxidized free radicals. Free radicals (which are a byproduct of oxidation that occurs in the body when electrons react during food digestion & exposure to radiation) damage cells and may play a role in heart disease and certain cancers. Antioxidants terminate these chain reactions by oxidizing the molecules. Antioxidants assist in skin repair, strengthening of blood vessels, keeping skin firm, and in helping keep acne under control.

I know all this may seem gibberish, but it is the best water you will find in our stores or faucets. Enjoy, it is a great thirst quencher.

Susan Boyle

All I can says is "WOW!". This is definitely not typical fame. Susan is 47 years old and does not look like a Celine Dion or have the "Fame" etiquette. She thought she would try out on Britain's Got Talent to see if she can fulfill her dream.

This is what makes this clip even more special. Everybody in the audience, judges, and myself thought "This lady is hilarious". She can't sing! All I can say is don't judge a book by it's cover. You will have to see this for your self.

Los Angeles Lakers

Published 2009-04-19 06:40:36 | By Yvette | Category: Entertainment
Today is the first day of playoffs for our Los Angeles Lakers. We kicked some Utah butt today. We were up by 22 at half time and won the game. For those of you know or remember Chick Hearn, I put the game in the fridge with about five minutes left in the game. Some may have thought that it was to aggressive to put it in the fridge so early, but I knew we had it. I have been listening to the game since I was in my mom's womb. I was even born while the doctor was watching a basketball game. Doctors can't do that anymore but my mom still tells me every time I get excited about a game--especially playoffs! During the Lakers back to back to back NBA titles in the early 2000's I did not miss a Laker parade. I was in college then, but if I had class I played hookie and went to the parade.

Those were the Shaq and Kobe drama days. Although the tension was high on the court I still had a blast watching the games. It was like watching Days of our Lives on the court. Both fighting to outshine the other. That is probably why we won title after title. No matter what happens out in the court, I enjoy watching the Lakers, with or without drama. Me and Jack Nicholson will still be at the game to watch. His seats are just much closer than mine :)

Earth Day

Published 2009-04-19 05:27:16 | By Yvette | Category: Lifestyles
Earth Day? Have you heard of it? If you haven't, it is one day designated to our Earth. I would hope we all know that it should not be just one day that we live consciously. Earth Day is one day to remind people who need a slap in the head to remember, we need to take care of this beautiful place we live on. So many people take for granted what they see today. Some have a mind set of "Oh, its okay I will die before it's all gone". What a terrible way to think. Because if your anything like me, I want my children and grandchildren to see everything I was privileged to see. For those who know me, I am far from greedy. I love to responsibly share what I have, and that means protecting my Earth--so my kids have the opportunity to see how beautiful it truly is. Earth day always falls in April, and this year it is on April 22, 2009. I plan on volunteering that Saturday the 25th at one of our local California State Parks for a beach clean up. On actual Earth Day I am going to the movie theater to see the Disney movie called "Earth". I am pretty excited!

I challenge you to do one good thing for the earth today and everyday. Wheather it be a full day of volunteering or just picking up a piece of trash and throwing it away. The more you protect your earth, the more it will protect you.
